Will Autism Therapy With NAET Help My Child?

Autism Therapy with NAET might be the only way for your child to become healthy again!  After NAET treatment you may hear your child says for the first time: “Mommy, I love you”.  To some, this may sound an unrealistic, or even fake, promise.

“Autism Treatment – NAET – Overview” was published by Mike Kastenbaum.

The Rise of Autism in UAE

With more and more children being diagnosed as autistic in the UAE, parents have to deal with the financial burden of treatment and therapy, as well as the emotional fall-out, discovers Suchitra Bajpai Chaudhary

The Dubai Autism Centre has 46 children on its rolls although it can only accommodate 44. The number of children on its waiting list? Nearly 200.

At the Emirates Autism Centre in Abu Dhabi, which caters for 56 children, there is also a further 200 children waiting to join. The figures echo the sudden rise in the number of children being diagnosed with autism across the UAE.

While just 16 cases of autism were reported to Dubai Autism Centre in 2001, only two years later the number had rocketed to 30.

Worldwide the occurrence of autism has been documented as one child in 88 births. “In the UAE, although no official figures are available I can tell you we are on the same track,” says Sara Ahmad Baker, head of the community service unit, Dubai Autism Centre. “Autism is definitely on the rise.

There is more awareness of the condition and improved diagnosis and assessment techniques so more cases are coming to light. However, the more worrying factor is that there could be a yet unidentified reason for this rise, something psychiatrists and doctors have yet to ascertain.”

What is Autism?

Autism is a lifelong, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them.

What is Hyperactivity?

Hyperactive children appear to be in constant motion: running, jumping, climbing, rocking, rolling, wiggling, and jiggling. Their fingers will tap, and their legs will swing, or the body will move while sitting in a chair.

Mealtime can become difficult because these children may be up and down, out of their seat, tossing food around, tapping the utensils on the table, and playing with the food. In a structured setting like school, these children may have discipline problems because of their inability to keep still.

What is Distractibility?

Every day the brain is bombarded with information from different sensory stimulators. In a normal individual, the brain monitors the lower level of this input and relays only the important information to thinking part of the brain. The mind would be extremely cluttered with information without this ability to sort things out.

A normal person can be in a noisy room and still have a conversation or do regular work while music is playing on the radio. People with ADHD are unable to do these tasks, have difficulty filtering out unnecessary inputs pouring into the brain from the surroundings, are easily distracted, and have a short attention span.

Early Signs of Autism

Every child is different and every child develops at his or her own pace. However, there are specific developmental milestones that all children should be reaching by specific ages. If your child is not meeting milestones or you are concerned about your child’s development, don’t wait! Talk to your doctor.

Signs for Infants and Children

Early signs of autism can often be detected in infants as young as 6-18 months. For example, if a baby fixates on objects or does not respond to people, he or she may be exhibiting early signs of an autism spectrum disorder.

Older babies and toddlers may fail to respond to their names, avoid eye contact, lack joint attention (sharing an experience of observing an object or event by gazing or pointing), or engage in repetitive movements such as rocking or arm flapping.

They may play with toys in unusual ways, like lining them up or focusing on parts of toys rather than the whole. Parents who notice these signs, or are concerned their children are not meeting developmental milestones, should contact their pediatricians and request a developmental screening. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends routine screening of all infants for autism as part of 18-month and 24-month well-baby examinations.

ADHD or Brain Allergy

Human Brain NAET Dubai

The shocking fact is that there are hardly any human diseases or conditions in which allergic factors are not involved directly or indirectly. Any substance under the sun, including sunlight itself, can cause an allergic reaction in an individual. In other words, potentially, you can be allergic to anything you come in contact with. If you begin to check people around you not only people with ADHD, even so-called healthy people you will find them reacting to many things around them.

You can be allergic to foods, drinks, drugs, childhood immunizations, herbs, vitamins, water, clothing, jewelry, cold, heat, wind, food colors, additives, preservatives, chemicals, formaldehyde, etc. Undiagnosed allergies can produce symptoms of various health disorders including ADD and ADHD at any age.

Commonly Seen Symptoms of Brain Disorders

Constant motion: climbing, jumping, bouncing back and forth, wiggling, swinging legs.

Biting: nails, fingers or chewing part of their clothes.

Restlessness: difficulty sitting quietly, tossing and turning in bed, unable to watch T.V for a moment.

Focusing: Doesn’t pay attention to what is being said or doesn’t pay attention to details, easily distracted by others or other stimuli and daydreams.

Organizational skills: Difficulty organizing tasks, forgets daily evens.

Self-control: unable to wait their turn, acts before thinking.

Emotional: Easily angered, severe mood swings, aggressive, violent and hostile or extremely silly.

Addiction: Easily addicted to foods (eating disorders), drugs, etc.

Candida, yeast problems, parasite infection, chronic fatigue, immune disorders, and hormonal imbalances.

Learning disabilities, dyslexia, Autism, many mental disorders, anxiety, depression.

Circulatory disorders, sleep irregularity, chemical sensitivity, nutritional disorders, restless leg syndrome, skin ailments, and genitourinary disorders.

This clearly points out that there are no typical responses to allergens in the real world. If we are depending on allergies to produce a uniform set of responses for all people, we may misdiagnose and provide the wrong treatment. We cannot duplicate and package a standard medication as an antidote for any specific allergy each individual case is different. We must not oversimplify our treatment of patients.

Not everyone exhibits typical allergic symptoms (whatever we perceive typical to be). Should we do so, we risk missing a myriad of potential reactions that may be produced in some people in response to their contact with substances that are for the allergens.

How NAET helps children with Autism?

NAET is short for “Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique.” It represents a CAM (Complimentary and Alternative Medicine) medical approach for treating allergies and sensitivities to foods, nutrients, and other environmental factors.

NAET draws from many natural healing modalities, including acupressure, kinesiology, chiropractic, and nutrition. Proponents of NAET believe it works by “reprogramming” a person’s negative response to allergens/sensitivities—basically like hitting the immune system’s “reset button.”

Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad discovered that one of the major causes of AutismAttention Deficit Disorders  (“ADD”), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (“ADHD”) is an allergy to substances that the child breathes, eats, drinks, and/or touches, as well as immunizations.

NAET has been proven very helpful in improving the symptoms of Autism.

Autism is a neurological disorder that is sweeping through the world at an alarming rate, currently affecting as many as 1 in every 68 children, according to 2010 statistics.

In 2000, the ratio was 1 in 150.

That’s a 45% increase in 10 years.

At this rate, in the next 10 years, the statistics will rise to 1 in every 30 children, and 10 years after that, 1 in every 14.

There is no medication that can cure Autism, and the medications that are currently in force to curb some of the symptoms have side effects such as seizures, addiction, anxiety, hallucinations, depression, infections, paranoia, and high blood pressure, to name just a few.

Now we have NAET treatment, which helped many children with allergy-related ADHD/ADD. Sometimes, the only sign of allergy is that they continuously ask for the same foods over and over.

There are many causes of Autism, ADD/ADHD as well as other behavioral problems; among the causes are allergies to artificial food colorings, food additives, chemicals, radiation, vaccinations, food allergies, as well as other things,  with NAET, these children can be treated and possibly lead a normal life.

Midbrain

The rostral part of the brain stem, which includes the tectum and tegmentum. It is involved in functions such as vision, hearing, eye movement, and body movement.

The anterior part has the cerebral peduncle, which is a huge bundle of axons traveling from the cerebral cortex through the brain stem and these fibers (along with other structures) are important for voluntary motor function.

Basal Ganglia

The basal ganglia are associated with a variety of functions including control of voluntary motor movements, procedural learning, routine behaviors or “habits” such as bruxism, eye movements, cognition, and emotion.

Cerebral Cortex

The cerebral cortex, also known as the cerebrum, is the largest portion of the brain, located right under the forehead and it is divided into two parts, a right, and a left hemisphere. They, in turn, have a total of four lobes – the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital lobes. The cerebral cortex controls movement, speech, memory, and intelligence.

Substantia Nigra

The substantia nigra is an important player in brain function, in particular, in eye movementmotor planningreward-seekinglearning, and addiction. Many of the substantia nigra’s effects are mediated through the striatum.

Frontal Lobe

The frontal lobe is one of four lobes in the cerebral hemisphere. This lobe controls several elements including creative thought, problem-solving, intellect, judgment, behavior, attention, abstract thinking, physical reactions, muscle movements, coordinated movements, smell and personality.

Hippocampus

The portion of the cerebral hemispheres in the basal medial part of the temporal lobe. This part of the brain is important for learning and memory for converting short-term memory to more permanent memory, and for recalling spatial relationships in the world about us.

Caudate putamen

The putamen is interconnected with so many other structures; it works in conjunction with them to control many types of motor skills. These include controlling motor learning, motor performance and tasks, motor preparation, specifying amplitudes of movement, and movement sequences.

Hypothalamus

Part of the diencephalon, ventral to the thalamus. The structure is involved in functions including homeostasis, emotion, thirst, hunger, circadian rhythms, and control of the autonomic nervous system. In addition, it controls the pituitary.

HEAVY METAL

Mercury

Source of Exposure: Major sources of exposure are from vaccine and mercury is used as a preservative. It also found in fish, fish products, dental filling, etc.

Commonly Causes: High levels of mercury are one of the causes of Autism, ADD, and ADHD. It also causes emotional imbalances, depression, and digestive disorder to the name of few.

Lead

Source of Exposure: Major sources of exposure are tap water, soil, water, household dust, etc.

Commonly Causes: It causes hyperactivity, mental confusion, upper respiratory disorder, etc.

Aluminium

Source of Exposure: Major sources of exposure are soils, water, air, foods, etc.

Commonly Causes: Upper respiratory disorders, effects nervous system, brain and bone damage in children, etc.

Source of Exposure: Major sources of exposure are wheat products, meats.

Commonly Causes: Irritability, poor concentration, sleep disorders, weakness of muscles, etc.

Fluoride

Source of Exposure: Major sources of exposure are water, milk, certain nuts and toothpaste.

Commonly Causes: Abdominal bloating, fatigue, asthma, weakness of muscle, etc.

Magnesium

Source of Exposure: Major sources of exposure are nuts, soy products, and whole grains

Commonly Causes: Chronic constipation, eczema, asthma, liver toxicity, etc.

NAET uses Muscle Response Testing technique (MRT), which allows us to know if a child is holding on to repressed emotions or is reacting to foods, clothing, radiation, or something in his environment.  With each test, we can eliminate the chemical sensitivity, allergies that hinders the flow of energy thus restoring the body to function normally.

Muscle Response Test

The NAET Treatment Procedure

Step 1 – Isolate the offending allergen using NTT (Nambudripad’s Testing Techniques: Muscle response testing, and/or non-invasive skin resistant testing, also encourages the use of standardized laboratory testing like RAST, Eliza act, etc.)

Step 2 – Mild acupressure on specific pre-determined acupuncture points by the practitioner on the specific meridians

Step 3 – Complete avoidance of the treated allergen for 25 hours following the treatment.

After 25 hours practitioner needs to retest the treated allergen for the completeness of the treatment. In most cases, it takes one treatment (one office visit) to eliminate the allergy if the treatment is administered properly, and 25 hour – avoidance is followed. In some extreme cases, it may take more than one office visit per item.

How does NAET work

With NAET, we get to the root of the problem, identifying and eliminating the allergen that is causing the recurring symptoms.

NAET can remove the adverse effect of any Allergic/Intolerant food in the body including all the above-listed food products, and create homeostasis in the body in the presence of the offending allergen (without avoiding for life).

During the NAET treatment, your brain will create a new friendly memory towards the allergen and will imprint and store in the memory bank. During the process, the old memory about the allergen’s adverse effect is erased or forgotten.

After completion of the NAET treatment, the allergen becomes non-allergen and an irritant becomes non- irritant to your energy field and the body will learn to relax naturally in the presence of the new friendly substance.

NAET treatment provides an effective treatment modality for children with autism to decrease autistic traits and improve their speech, language, communication skills, social interactions, sensory and cognitive awareness, and overall physical health and behavior.

Emotional Factors

Various types of emotional allergies exist. We need to recognize them and eliminate them to be healthy. Until recently no one gave any importance to emotional blockages and the diseases arising from them. For years people with emotional problems were sent to psychiatrists, who labeled the sufferers “Mentally ill,” institutionalized them. It was recognized as a serious problem at the time.

Emotional blockages can happen due to allergies, which affect the emotional aspect of the meridian or organ. If the blockages remain at the emotional level for a long period of time, they can begin to affect physical and physiological levels in the body, eventually turning into disease. Therefore, it is necessary to isolate and remove the cause of emotional blockages as soon as possible.

NAET deals with the whole body, removing blockages at the physical, physiological and emotional levels. Only then can a person be truly healthy. I have treated many patients with emotional blockages. Children could be having physical energy interference with his/her parents. This could cause irritation in the child’s body and brain.

To fully understand NAET, one needs to know some Oriental medical principles.  NAET has taken the acupuncture and Oriental medical theories and developed a technique that can eliminate the reaction from the root.

MRT (Muscle Response Testing)

By clearing food and environmental and chemical allergens from the protocol, we strengthen the immune system, eliminate the root cause of the symptoms in Autism and in bonus it also helps improve your digestion and absorption. This allows the body to get the necessary nutrients, which are essential for life.

One allergen is cleared per visit. Each individual has a different genetic makeup and health history so the number of sessions required varies from one individual to another.

How NAET helped an Autistic child

One year ago, my son Tyler barely spoke. Now he is positively chatty. We owe Tyler’s success not only to traditional therapies but to NAET. NAET is something that my logical mind cannot grasp. When I first heard about friends that used it for migraines and dog allergies, I said: “That’s crazy!”

Then I got laid off and had the good fortune to be watching a news show were parents of a young autistic boy spoke about NAET and how their son had no trace of autism left after going through the treatments. I consider it divine intervention that I had the television on when this show came on.

At the time of his diagnosis, Tyler flapped, rocked, spun toys, had a fascination for fans, liked to spin, was seansitive to certain textures, liked to stare at lights, and barely spoke. Today, almost all of the autism-related behaviors have disappeared. His first sentence came about 56 weeks after we started treatments.

After 3 months, he no longer needed speech therapy. Some people who know us have a hard time believing he was ever diagnosed on the spectrum. Now, his ABA therapist feels that Tyler does not need ABA anymore. The school district strongly feels that Tyler’s autism diagnosis will be lifted. NAET played a huge role in this.

I feel that my job is to inform as many people of NAET as possible. I believe it is my job to let people know what worked for Tyler and at the end of the day, I can rest assured that I have truly done everything I can for Tyler. Not only that, but it worked.
