Recreational Drugs: Addiction to Alcohol & Cigarette

Alcohol is technically the waste product of yeast.

Yeast – under a microscope

Ethanol, also commonly called ethyl alcohol, drinking alcohol, or simply alcohol is the principal type of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, produced by the fermentation of sugars by yeasts.

Alcohol is technically the waste product of certain types of yeast that feed on fruit and grain sugars. Fruit-based alcoholic beverages produce wine and brandies, and grain-based alcoholic beverages produce beer and hard liquors such as vodka. What the yeast is fed, and the type of yeast used to create the drink, determines the type of beverage that’s created.

An alcoholic beverage is a drink which contains a substantial amount of the psychoactive drug ethanol, a depressant which in low doses causes euphoria, reduced anxiety, and sociability and in higher doses causes intoxication (drunkenness), stupor, and unconsciousness. Long-term use can lead to alcohol abuse, physical dependence, and Alcoholism.

When people become intoxicated from alcohol, they are experiencing the destruction and death of brain cells. It is the decreased transmission of electrical impulses in the brain, due to cell death, that provides the “high.”

Euphoria is a psychological affect, often used to define emotion and an intense state of transcendent happiness combined with an overwhelming sense of contentment. It has also been defined as an “affective state of exaggerated well-being or elation.”

Note the word toxic in intoxicated. This is an accurate description because alcohol poisons the liver and clogs the lympathic vessels with waste. As a naturopath friend once remarked, “a hangover is literally lymph poisoning

To drink or not to drink

The latest dietary guidelines make it clear that no one should begin drinking or drink more frequently on the basis of potential health benefits. So don’t feel pressured to drink alcohol. But if you do drink alcohol and you’re healthy, there’s probably no need to stop as long as you drink responsibly and in moderation.

What Alcohol does to your body

Getting over drinking problem through NAET Treatment

Many people who go through Alcoholics Anonymous and similar groups will learn to quit drinking by practicing self-control, group therapy, support systems, etc. But most of them end up having some physical disorders or pain: migraines, backaches, neck pains, shoulder pains, insomnia, etc. When they are treated for B complex, sugar, and alcohol, their physical symptoms disappear.

Before you can successfully get over a drinking problem, you need to be treated for B complex and sugar. You should receive huge amounts of B complex vitamins along with megadoses of vitamin B12 for months before you face the real world. You need to get involved with group therapy for support while going through the treatment. The Basic 10 should be treated first before treating for alcohol.

Alcoholics Support Group

Alcohol treatments may bring forth trapped or troubling emotions from the past. NAET specialists are well trained to look for emotional blockages associated with alcohol and, if found, they can be eliminated through NAET.

NAET had treated many addictions to alcohol, drugs, sugar, chocolate, and tobacco in the past five years. Almost all of these patients were found to be allergic to B complex and sugar. As soon as these allergies were removed and supplemented with megadoses of B vitamins, it was easy for most of them to break the habits. Sometimes, treatment is needed once a week for three to four weeks to lessen the cravings and withdrawal symptoms while they take 300-500 mg of B complex to fill up the deficiency.

Testimonial from an Alcoholic

A 63-year-old woman who had suffered for 2 years from a severe strain on the left side of the neck, shoulder, and upper arm, came to have NAET treatment. She tried to hide that she is an alcoholic but the practitioner found out just by observing her. She had been an alcoholic for the past 20 years. She even went to a detoxification clinic twice, but she could not stop.

She was treated for sugar and brandy. She was not allergic to B complex; this is why she could fool everyone about her drinking problem. Her large intestine meridian was blocked.  After she was treated for sugar and brandy, her constant nagging pain in her neck and shoulder disappeared. Six years later, she still remains pain-free.

When asked about drinking, she said that she quit drinking soon after the treatment for brandy because she did not get the “buzz” in her head anymore. Brandy tastes like tap water to her after the treatments. She drank water whenever she wanted a drink, since tap water and brandy gave her almost the same result. She concluded that she might as well drink tap water and save the money.

Cigarette Smoking: Nicotine Addiction

Nicotine is well known for being physically addicting. But there’s a strong emotional component to smoking, too.

Initially, cigarettes increase respiration, but then quickly dampen it. Decreased respiration means decreased awareness of emotions.

Since the emotional expression is so connected to the ability to take full, deep breaths.

The sweeteners, preservatives, fire retardants, and other toxic chemicals in commercial cigarettes make them much more harmful than plain unadulterated tobacco. Health-conscious people who want to smoke can buy organically grown, untreated tobacco and roll their own cigarettes.

Different countries enacted legislation to prohibit smoking in public places. Although these laws seem harsh to some smokers, they do protect the air we all breathe.

The dangers of cigarette smoking, and their augmentation (if not cause) of all types of conditions from asthma and bronchitis to emphysema and lung cancer are well documented. Studies have shown that secondhand smoke — from the ends of cigarettes, often unwillingly inhaled by non-smokers — causes even more damage than the original smoke.

Quitting Smoking is a Journey

Smoking Cessation

Allergy to B complex is the main cause of any addiction, including smoking and nicotine addiction. After completing the treatment for B complex, it is necessary to take megadoses of B complex supplements for a few days to a month, as indicated by muscle response testing. While going through the rest of the Basic 15 treatments, you may be able to replenish your B complex deficiency before you do the treatment for smoking. After the Basic 15, you will be ready to treat for smoking and nicotine.

Testimonial from a Smoker

A 32-year-old patient was addicted to cigarette smoking, consuming three to four packs a day. His wife was suffering from asthma and frequent bronchitis. Her doctor asked him to quit smoking for his wife’s sake. He tried different methods to quit. He even went through a smoking withdrawal program twice. He was desperate.

One of his friends who quit smoking after NAET treatments suggested him to try NAET. He was found to be allergic to B complex, sugar, and nicotine, which blocked his lungs, liver, and large intestine meridians. When he got treated for these items, he was able to stop smoking without any additional effort. A few years later, he said that a week after the treatment for B complex, his cravings for cigarettes diminished. He cut down his cigarette consumption, quitting completely in less than three weeks, and did not even miss it.
